Welcome to Kindergarten 2016-2017!
Dear Kindergarten Family,
I am so excited to have the opportunity to be a part of your child's life this year. I as well as the other primary staff believe that all children can learn. We know that children learn in many different ways and we look forward to challenging all of our students. Your child is assigned to my classroom, however he/she will also interact with other staff and teachers throughout the school year.
I would like to share a little about myself with you. After graduating from LeTourneau University with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, I obtained my teacher certifications to teach Early Childhood through 8th grade as well as ESL and Special Education from Early Childhood through 12th grade. I recently began working towards my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Texas A&M Commerce. I plan to complete my master's at Baylor University in the future.I am married and have 2 children. We also have a three year old Great Dane who keeps us busy.
In our classroom we learn through hands-on activities, encourage a love of words and reading, work in groups, promote a positive self-image and caring for others. Kindergarten creates the foundation for a life of learning and I believe that it is my responsibility to provide the necessary tools that each child needs to succeed. However, it takes a village to raise a child and by working together, your child will continue to grow both academically and emotionally. Please feel free to call, e-mail, or write me with any concerns or questions you may have throughout the year. With your help, I know this school year will be a wonderful experience.
I realize there is so little time for us to visit on the first days of school. I would love for you to write me a letter about your child and how I can help him/her grow. Anything you consider important, even those small facts and details, will help me to get to know your child more quickly.
Here's to a great year!
